Rimmel London #InstaFlawless Perfecting, Radiant Skin Tint, Dupe!?
19:08
Rimmel's latest new releases are additions to their existing Kate Moss range, and includes a skin tint, sculpting palette, and a lip balm. Having enjoyed previous products from this range, I picked up the tinted primer and lip balm at the recent Priceline 40% off cosmetics sale.
The skin tint, which seems to be officially named #InstaFlawless Perfecting, Radiant Skin Tint is also referred to as simply Perfecting Skin Tint. I picked up in the shade Light Medium. There are actually only two shades in this product, with the other being Medium Dark. For drugstore BB/CC/tinted moisturiser type products that's not unusual, as the product sheers out on the skin and becomes suitable for multiple skin tones.
The extended product description reads Get up & glow with our Perfecting Skin Tint that provides a natural looking radiant glow & erases signs of fatigue. This ultra lightweight formula leaves skin hydrated for up to 24 hours whilst helping to perfect and brighten skin tone. Can be worn alone for a radiant glow or under makeup to extend wear. For the most part, I do agree with this statement, however to it by no means can erase signs of fatigue, but certainly brighten up your skin to make you look less tired. The 24 hour hydration claim could also be contested, but I feel like every company is forever outdoing themselves with their product duration claims, so 24 is actually more like 12.
The tint is also SPF 15. This might be suitable for London/ the UK, but for Australia, where UV is a lot higher, SPF 30+ is a must! So if you are relying on your face product for SPF, make sure you apply some sunscreen before if you plan on wearing only this.
As soon as I first applied this product, it immediately reminded me of the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue. These are both light coverage products which brighten and even out skin tone, whilst providing a radiant glow. So, is it a DUPE?!
You can see in the photos below, that the shade Light-Medium in Rimmel's skin tint (left) is very similiar to Bare Mineral's Buttercream (right), with Buttercream leaning very slightly more yellow.
The consistency of both products is also identical; thick and moussey, but spreads evenly across the skin.
Each product also blends out to a light radiant finish.
There are only a few differences I've noted so far between these two products:
1. SPF: Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue has a SPF of 30+, as compared to SPF 15 of Rimmel skin tint
2. Fragrance: the Rimmel skin tint is fragranced more like sunscreen or a traditional tinted moisturiser than the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue
3. Shade Range: Rimmel has 2 shades vs 10 shades in Bare Minerals
4. Price: Rimmel skin tint retails for $13.95 vs Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue at $46
I wore the Rimmel skin tint from 8am-6.30pm today. Due to the nature of the product, fading in the afternoon was evident, although my skin still looked glowy and fresh by the evening, which I guess is what the 24HR moisture refers to?!
Overall, if you're looking for an affordable product for to 'get up and glow', this elaborately named new release from Rimmel is worth a try!
Thanks for reading!

Edit 13th April: Since I started using the product I've had a few new pimples appear (I hardly ever get any, let alone 4!), but I will update this with time. So for sensitive skin beauties I might suggest shying away from this product!
